Hello, My name is Stephen. I used to play drums in a band from Phoenix, AZ called The Constellation Branch. Now, I play drums in a band from Dallas, TX called Caterpillars. This is my blog about drumming and other things.
My new babies. I’m going to be using these while I play drums, during shows and practice. Since most of our songs have samples in the background, i’m using these to keep time with all of it.
So, I am in this new band called CATERPILLARS. I’m really excited for this. It’s a lot poppier then other bands i’ve played in, but that’s ok! (for fans of Mew, Copeland, The Appleseed Cast). It’s also the first time that i’m going to be playing live with earphones, cause of all the samples we have in the songs. I have to admit, I was worried about that, but it’s going great! HAHA! I just found this pic. This was the drum-kit I played on when I was in an old Rap-Metal band called Consign Eye. HAHA!
I can’t believe I forgot to mention this drummer as one of my influences. What was I thinking? David Sandström of Refused might be my main influence on drumming.
Taking your time to write hardcore music, crazy concept huh? I think the members of Snow Wolves are at that age where we are done putting up with the music industry junk and all the childish, typical scene hardcore music out there (we are getting old, lol). We want to have fun playing music, but at the same time put our minds into the writing process and not just write the same old hardcore shit. If we write a song and it comes out that way, we will throw it away. We want to challange ourselves and not release anything we are just ok with, only stuff we are extremely happy with. When I was in The Constellation Branch, I used to worry about what people thought about the band. But with this band, I really don’t give a shit. I know a lot of people don’t like hardcore music and to the people who do, they might not get it cause of the experiments we will be trying, lol. All I have to say about that is, OH WELL! If you don’t like it, don’t listen. We are thinking about ourselves this time and playing music that we like. That being said though, I hope you do like it and enjoy the hard work we will be putting in to this, and can’t wait for you guys to hear it. LONG LIVE SNOW WOLVES.
